What is Microsoft OneDrive for Business?
OneDrive for Business is Microsoft's cloud storage for work files. Each person gets their own secure space to save, open and share documents from any device, and it plugs straight into Word, Excel, Teams and the rest of Microsoft 365. Your files live online, so a lost laptop never means lost work.
How much storage does OneDrive provide?
Most Microsoft 365 plans give each user 1 TB of storage, which covers the majority of businesses comfortably. If someone needs more, Microsoft can raise their allowance, and we sort that as part of your setup.
Can OneDrive be accessed from any device?
Yes. You can reach your files on a Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android phone or any web browser. Mark the files you use most for offline access and they stay available with no signal, then sync the moment you reconnect.
Is OneDrive secure for business use?
Yes. Files are encrypted in storage and in transit, you decide who can open or share each one, and version history lets you roll back a bad edit. Activity logs show who touched what. We set the sharing and access rules so your team collaborates without data leaking outside the business.
Can multiple users work on the same file at once?
Yes. Several people can edit the same Word, Excel or PowerPoint file at the same time and watch each other's changes as they type. OneDrive records every edit in order, so nobody overwrites anyone else's work.
What happens if a file is deleted or overwritten?
You can get it back. OneDrive keeps earlier versions of every file and holds deleted items in the recycle bin for up to 93 days. Restoring a previous version or a deleted document takes a couple of clicks.
